Which Vermont school district is getting four electric school buses

One Chittenden County school district will be rolling cleaner this year with four new electric school buses.

The South Burlington School District will start the school year with two electric buses and will receive two more later on.

“We are excited to be able to offer our students the opportunity to ride on emissions-free transportation for the first time in our District’s history,” said Communications Coordinator Corey Burdick in a statement for the South Burlington School District. “This initiative furthers the district’s goals around climate change mitigation and is in alignment with the ways we have been partnering with the city on renewable energy.”

Vermont has been systematically swapping out gas-guzzling buses for battery-powered ones a few at a time. South Burlington joins several districts across the state that have received electric school buses.

Improvising Great Classroom Discussion

I was watching a video of several of my students teaching this week. I had to be away for a conference, and they were scheduled to teach that day anyway, so I asked our Center for Teaching Excellence to record it. I would evaluate them later. Although most of the students in the class are planning to be English teachers, it’s not an education class. For that reason, I planned to pay closer attention to the content and preparation than to their actual pedagogy.

WASHINGTON U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan, one of many final remaining members of President Barack Obama’s authentic Cabinet, will step down in December, a White House official stated on Friday.

There is a simple thing we could do: reduce navy spending and put that into schools. Now we are talking about one other battle in Syria, and this might be more wasted tax payer dollars. When states akin to Hawaii can solely afford to have a 4 day college week for their students, there is no need for us to be intervening in other countries. I assume courses sizes could even be smaller, and we need to look at what another nations, akin to Finland and South Korea, and be more open minded about improvements right here.
