Facing a forfeit, two unlikely participants stepped up so their high school could play

Over the last several years, it seems like there has been an increase in the amount of high school games that are getting canceled due to everything from teams not getting their helmets back from reconditioning at the beginning of this fall, to a lack of available players .

This weekend, Wewoka HS (OK) was facing a week four game against Mounds HS (OK) that they were going to have to forfeit being down eight players for a variety of reasons, they shared on social media.

To keep that from happening, two unlikely participants stepped forward.

Senior ladies Natalie Davis and Callie Ramsey stepped way out of their comfort zones to put on shoulder pads and a helmet to make sure Wewoka would have a game.

On Monday, July 28, 2014, the Montgomery County Board of Education (Board) accredited sweeping adjustments to the processes and guidelines that govern the payment of expenses that Board members incur as part of their work. Among the adjustments, Board members will no longer use district-funded bank cards; will obtain a per diem allowance when attending professional conferences; and can make use of a brand new process for figuring out public events, conferences, and conferences that Board members can attend at the district’s expense.

What are We Doing About AI Essays?

The November newsfeed heralded the arrival of AI essay writing. In truth, AI authorship hardly qualifies as “news.” There is nothing new about it: AI has been generating blog content for online businesses for some time and is largely responsible for the current glut of meaningless search engine results. Enter a query about stain removal, and the top matches feature links to vacuous 1,500-word essays filled with advertisements and zero practical information. That’s AI.
